Stockholm Skansen Tour (Sweden) - 30 HD Photos

Skansen, a Swedish Natural Museum in the middle of the Stockholm

We closed our weekend tour of Stockholm by a visit of Skansen, which is the Swedish Natural museum, and probably one of the most popular place in Sweden. You can see traditional houses, nature and a few nice nordic animals! Very nicely made, it’s a pleasant place to visit and feel the root of Sweden. It’s very accessible and in the middle of Stockholm, so very easy to reach without renting a car! You can get there by bus or by boat! The zoo has many nice animals to see, such as moose, brown bear, lynx, harbour and grey seal, peacock, …  Really nice!

Chamois et Hermine au barrage de la Grande Dixence (Chamois & Stoat), Valais, Switzerland (Suisse)

Shooting Wild Nature with Canon 5D MKII and Canon 100-400mm 4.5-5.6 L USM - Chamois and Stoat

During the walk in the Barrage de la Grande Dixence and of the Lac des Dix, in Val d’Hérens, Valais, Switzerland, I’ve been lucky enough to see a chamois from quite far. I’ve approached it to about 50m, shooting with the Canon 100-400mm 4.5-5.6 L USM, which is actually excellent for this kind of photography. At the same time, a stoat (hermine) went out of its hole in the ground and was facing nose to nose with the chamois! This was particularly lucky moment! Enjoy the photos, of which some were cropped in.

Granada Generalife with Alhambra, Spain (Espana, Andalusia)

The Generalife - Summer palace of Alhambra, Granada Spain

The Generalife was the summer palace of the Alhambra and was built between 1302 and 1309. It’s part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Granada, one of the most beautiful city of Andalusia in Spain.

All photos were shot with Canon EOS 5D MKII and Canon 16-35mm 2.8 L USM II lens, all of them treated with Adobe Lightroom 4.2.

Emosson Barrage et Lac / Dam and Lake, Switzerland (Suisse, Valais) - 100 HD photos

Emosson Dam and Lake in Switzerland (Barrage et Lac, Suisse Valais)

The Emosson dam and lake was the perfect place in the Valais alpine mountains  in Switzerland to make a day hike session with our good friend coming to visit us! It’s next to Martigny, in the col de la Forclaz region, on the road to Chamonix (France). We had a marvellous day that we will remember for long, as the weather was nice, the place was simply splendid and very nice and adequate for making lot of nice landscape photos. So beautiful that she painted live some of the most beautiful locations during the walk! The dam is actually quite impressive, and the lake behind is very quiet with a specific blue turquoise color tone. The mountain around are slpendid and you have a view on the Mont-Blanc chain. We had a walk to reach the second dam of Emosson (old lake) which is under repair at the moment, so the road was closed and we had to hike, in total 12km. Splendid view on the full domain of Emosson, which produces electricity for the CFF/SBB (Swiss Railway company) and also for France. We reached it by using the funicular of Emosson, which you take at village of Chatelard: this is the steepest 2-cabin funicular in the world with 87% slope gradient. This is so impressive and a must do if you pass by Emosson region (we did the way back by legs and it was very beautiful path)! The dam is at 1’930m altitude, and in early September it starts to be a bit fresh, but full of blueberries all over the place, which for sure girls can’t resist!
