Thuner See: typical postcard landscape Swiss scenery

The lake of Thun is an Alpine lake in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland. It took its name from the city of Thun, situated at 558m altitude. We had a very nice walk around the lake, on its northern shore, from Thun to Merligen, where we took a very nice old boat back to Thun. After walking an hour, we found a jump contest (bike and ski), which was quite fun to look at as you can see below. We continued with a little portrait session and then a nice castle facing the lake. The water was deep green, and with the mountains around, the place really looks like typical Swiss Postcard. A great place to go if you pass by Switzerland!

Et pour finir la série sur Emosson, voici une vue un peu glacée du barage, assez minimaliste: le barage et le lac gelé. J’aimais particulièrement la simplicité du moment, les courbes généreuses qui tranchait avec la rudesse des conditions climatiques.

To conclude on the Emosson photographic serial, here is a icy view of the dam, quite minimalist: the dam and the frozen lake. I particularly liked the simple moment, with generous curves that contrasted sharply with the rough climatic conditions.

Et voilà une autre photo du barrage, prise avec le Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6, qui est un des meileurs grand angles disponibles sur le marché, pour un prix très compétitif. Une bonne partie des HDR que je fais le sont avec cet objectif, qui s’avère être un bon complément pour la créativité, grâce à sa focale de 10mm qui est simplement fabuleuse. Couplée au Sony A700 et son capteur CMOS, ça donne des résultats haute définition avec un très bon piqué ouvert à f/8 ou f/11!

Here is another photo of the dam, shot with the Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6, one of the best wide angle availableon the market, for a very competitive price. Most of the HDR pics I’m showing here have been made with this lens, which is a great add-on for creativity, thanks to its 10mm possibility, just fantastic! Mounted on my Sony A700 with its great CMOS sensor, it tends to deliver very high and sharp resolution, especially open at f/8 or f/11.
