2 Lightroom presets for B&W Portraits
When doing portraits, postproduction has an important role to play. It gives different feeling to the same exposure. For the first serie of portraits I’ve posted, I was actually working out the full serie in 3 different outputs:
- Color: classical set of contrast and saturation, with making sure the right white balance is set up for great skin rendering
- B&W Infra: low kelvin temperature to give strong contrast, and stronger colour push in the red channels. Result is harsh and contrasted output, to emphasize on strong emotions.
- B&W Oldish: higher kelving temperature, some split toning and yellow channel push. Result is something more anitque, a bit stuck in the time, quite romantic.
You can find the 3 effects in the same order below:

For your personal use, I’ve placed for free the 2 B&W presets I’ve been working with on studio portraits. You can use it for free, and let me know if you like it! I’d be very happy to see how it works for you!
