The Bay of Phang Nga - An amazing place to visit by boat from Phuket Island

For my 30 years old birthday, we decided to visit the Bay of Phang Nga, located on the North West of Phuket Island in the Andaman Sea, in Thailand. We actually followed a single advertising panel we saw on the highway after the bridge leaving the Phuket island on the North, which took us after 30 minutes of car within the jungle on a fantastic modern pier (Klong Khian Pier) with no one there! After 2 minutes, a man came with his motorbike, and offered us to rent a boat for the day to visit the Phang Nga Bay. We were not sure about it but since he was really kind we said OK. A fisher man came with his daughter and took us through the bay for the day for not even half of of the usual price, and they took us to places that big boat would never go. We had a fantastic day, which we will never forget! There are hundreds of islands and rocks, with luxurious nature, cave and beach. The place is really beautiful, and going by boat is a fantastic experience. I can only recommend you to go to this Klong Khian Pier and ask for the boat trip, this is probably the best place to do it. Here is the G-Map link

The Panyi Fishing Village - Ko Panyi in Andaman Sea

The Ko Panyi island is a fishing village with about 200 families (probably from Indonesia) which is also a good touristic place to visit. You might eat and purchase a few souvenirs. However what stroke me the most was their football pitch and the kids playing football, on such a small place! 

The James Bond Island (The Man with the Golden Gun, 1974) - Ko Khao Phing Kan

You can visit the James Bond Island, Ko Khao Phing Kan not far from the rock Ko Tapu (the big rock which face the island and that everyone takes in photo). This place is simply amazing, where the James Bond movie “The Man with the Golden Gun” was shot in 1974 with Roger Moore and Christopher Lee. You must pay a ticket once arriving on the island, but the landscape is really great! A must see if you’re in Phuket!

The Renaissance Spa Ressort Hotel in Phuket, located on Kao Beach

The Renaissance Spa Ressort hotel in Phuket is brand new, opened last year in 2010. The hotel is fantastic, and I guess is highly recommended for Honeymoons in Thailand! Most of the people there were couples recently married (especially Russian!). I can only recommend the hotel, and we must admit we also felt in love with the place. The design is really sleek, nice and warm. Room confort is top, breakfast on the morning is a new adventure every day (they also tried new receipt they make you try at your table!), with nice ambiant music all over the place. The restaurant was also serving very nice thai food, and the bar on the beach has a great ambiance with nice lightning and great cocktails. It’s right on the Mai Khao beach, which is very quiet, especially compared to the southern part of the Phuket island. You can also order Thai massage on the beach. Hotel staff is also super friendly, and since we both had our birthday falling one day after another, they offered us for free a cake (without telling the other one!) and even wrote a card for my wife! We only dream about coming back!

Phuket Island Tour up to Patong, Thailand

The Puhket Island, Southern Thailand Beauty

We rent a car and made a full tour of the Phuket Island in Thailand, passing from North to the city of Phuket, then touring to the Southern point of the island (Cap Promthep) and then coming back to the hotel Renaissance via Kata Noi, Kata Yai, Karon and Patong Beach. The island is nice, and the beach are very diverse: crowded on the south west, empty and beautiful on the north! We had good time all over the island, but must admit staying at the Renaissance Hotel was such a nice place that we didn’t have much time going anywhere else during the week there! Patong is a very interesting place to see, not necessarily to stay! Enjoy the tour!

Doi Suthep - the most beautiful Wat temple in Chiang Mai region

Doi Suthep is located in the mountains around the city of Chiang Mai (exactly at 1601m), and is a must see place to visit if you’re around. The wat was built in 1383 and is full of gold. It’s one of the most visited and highly respected temple in Thailand. You will immediately fell the special ambiance there, and will enjoy a fantastic visit. To get there, you either have a 300 steps stair or you can take the telepheric. It has been definitely one of the most interesting place we’ve visited when being in Thailand.

BMW Headquarter, Munich, Bavaria, Germany

BMW Headquarter in Munich - four cylinders tower for largest luxury car manufacturer

BMW Headquarter is a Munich landmark, which has been serving as world headquarters for the automaker for over 30 years. It was declared a protected historic building in 1999. Extensive refurbishments commenced in 2004 and were completed in 2006. The Tower was built between 1968 and 1972 and was ready just in time for 1972 Summer Olympics of Munich. Was innaugurated in 1973 officialy. The building is 101m located near the Olympiapark and is often cited as one of the most notable examples of architecture in Munich. This is probably one of the most famous European building of the 70’s, with pretty high-tech architecture. Actually the 4 cylinders are suspended in the air and do not touch the ground. The building was designed by architect Karl Schwanzer.
